Today I participated in the Karen New Year celebration. I was invited by several of my students who sang and danced. It was AMAZING. I want to learn some traditional Karen dances – and I am working on my Karen language! I went with two other teachers, and we picked up one student from the DR Congo to come with us.
I got to eat a traditional Karen lunch there – it was DELICIOUS! And the spiciest food I have EVER eaten. It was amazing. I had so much fun and am so proud of my two students who participated! I am in love with the Karen people! I can’t wait to go again next year!!
